Why Recovery Is Possible?

Welcome  to my page. Hi!  I am Tonya, owner of Recovery Is Possible. I have over 10 years of  successfully managing my recovery. I have also helped others successfully manage their road to recovery, whatever their recovery looked like to them. I am a certified EMDR(eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) and CBT Practitioner (cognitive behavioral therapy)

I was a successful homeschool teacher aide to two exceptional students from birth till present. Iam a trauma survivor amongst other things. I received my Certified Peer Support Specialist Certification (CPSS) through RI International in October of 2021. I have received my certificate as a Mental Health First Aider in April 2024 from The National Council for Behavioral Health. Iam a Certified Personal and Executive Coach (CPEC) through The Coaching and Positive Psychology Institute (CAPP Institute). My passion is helping our most vulnerable clients. I enjoy working with teens , children and our elderly. Violence is violence doesn't matter if your a man, woman or child.  Anyone can be a victim. So everyone is welcome. Another  passion is helping parents successfully help their autistic children be the best possible version of themselves. Even though my experience is with autism I will assist parents to successfully help their children in their educational, personal, spiritual setting and working alongside the professionals you have servicing them.  Next meet Tatyana! She was homeschooled and graduated. She's only 20 but she knows a lot and enjoys helping others. Especially her fellow peers.  She enjoys talking with patients that have Alzheimer's and Dementia.  She has done a lot of personal research on these subjects.  She enjoys digital art, playing video games with her friends and sight seeing with her family. She was given an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) for the diagnosis of learning delays in 4th grade. She's a survivor of trauma and bullying, as well. I'll let her share her story later. Finally, meet Jonathan! He was diagnosed with autism at two. He loves art, seashells , drawing Japanese art and Hawaiian shirts.

He was homeschooled and eventually graduated.  He loved volunteering at a nursing home and reading the bible to the patients in the past.

Why Recovery Is Possible?

Unfortunately, our mental health system is overwhelmed. We have really good providers but they have so many they service it may take months to see them. Sometimes insurance laws change.  In my case, my therapy appointments  went from thirty minutes to fifteen. With Recovery Is Possible you can find a peer to talk to in between visits.   These are just support visits. We will assist in helping you explore ways to support yourself. We can collaborate to find your own tools to help empower yourself.  My second niche is supporting families with children/adults with autism. I am not an autism specialist. Iam an expert with my son and how he works. I want to empower families to become their own child's expert. We will partner and find ways you can work together with the professionals to help your child be the best version of themselves. I offer  my services to all children or young adults.
